Broken Link

There is a broken link on the main page which should guide to the German Fiesta Community. If anybody knows if they've moved or how long the site won't be available, please tell me or leave a short note behind the link. It is quite annoying when clicking on a link and the site does not exist... --Favola 01:33, 13 March 2008 (CDT)

Issue resolved. Link removed as site was unable to be found. Should anyone discover the new link to the site, please comment after this message. Triumph Talk

"Items" page on Main Page

Can somebody put the "Items" page on the "Main Page"? I think this would be quite reasonable. I´m just adding the basic information and links on this page these days. "Mob Drops" page is already done. There are several links to existing pages just missing in this wiki...87.171.43.111 (talk)

Where do you think it belongs on the main page? What other links do you think should be on the main page? Where? Entropy (talk) 01:10, 4 December 2007 (CST)
I would put it under Items as "list of all items" or something like that. With missing links I mean that there are several pages (not the main page) which just lack links to articles about the things they are telling about. I will add links to the item list page to every item page. For other examples just look in the toolbox under Special pages -> orphaned pages or dead-end pages. I will put some work into the item-pages and -lists. 87.171.36.17 (talk)
The "General Guides" section is becoming long, compared to other sections. I suppose it's time anyways to break it up into smaller sections. Triumph Talk
Ok, well I unprotected the main page, now any logged in user can edit it. You can register at http://www.fiestafan.com Entropy (talk)
Done. Designated Item List on the front page. Triumph Talk

Integration on Main Page

Adding new links is fine. Don't change the font size or formatting, though. Triumph Talk

Suggestion

I'd like to suggest, a new link arrangement for the front page. Well maybe it's just me, but I get tired of having to click to get to the section of the Character Guides I want to, so how about changing the Character Guide links like this?

ARCHER

  • ARCHER Basic Guide
  • ARCHER Level Info
  • ARCHER Skill Data

CLERIC

  • CLERIC Basic Guide
  • CLERIC Level Info
  • CLERIC Skill Data

MAGE

  • MAGE Basic Guide
  • MAGE Level Info
  • MAGE Skill Data

FIGHTER

  • FIGHTER Basic Guide
  • FIGHTER Level Info
  • FIGHTER Skill Data

In addition, the General Guide links could be rearranged, as well. After all there are 5 Monster related links in there, but not next to each other. For example:

  • General Tips
  • Quest List
  • NPC List

MONSTER

  • Monster Information
  • Moster Types and their Drops (former: Basic Mob Drops by Monster)
  • Mob Drops
  • Monster Locations
  • Monster XP Rates

PC related

  • All About Stats
  • Harvesting and Resources
  • Enhancement Guide
  • Production Skills
  • Money Making
  • Title Guide
  • Level 20 Job Change
  • Custom Video & Screenshot Creation Guide

Suggestion Comments

Not a bad idea. I'll probably get to it once I get a bit more time. Triumph Talk

This has been taken care of. What do you do to suggestions that have been acted upon? Keep them on the Discussion page or what? Icy
Everything on discussion pages usually are permanent with the exception of minor grammer formatting from the original posters subject, and archiving if the page gets too long. Ajc2123 06:42, 9 April 2008 (CDT)
Above all the level info for the class pages. Why don't we put a small description with a starter image of the class. Nothing about how to run them, but what they are 'meant' for and a brief overview of their abilities. Like this one. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Warrior Is how the previous Game I played handled that and I thought it looked pretty good. Ajc2123 07:28, 31 March 2008 (CDT)

Level 60 job change?

Is there a guide written for lvl 60 job change? If there is it isn't on the main page. If there isn't one, It really needs to be written. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Keeter (talk)

Done. Under Job Change Quests subsection. Triumph Talk

More Maps/Mob Locations Needed

The site seems pretty stagnant information wise, I am gonna be attempting to get pictures of the maps not listed, but I cannot photoshop them to add monster locations, so perhaps someone should get on it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sovereignty (talk)

I left a message at your talk page. Icy

'Vera' City

After much research about this city, I've realised that the city's name is Bera. All folder names, file names, and quests on Fiesta Korea are titled 'Bera'. Therefore I suggest changing the name on the main page, and redirection link to the page.

The developers also named lots of other things in very silly ways. You never know what Outspark's going to get. The origin of the problem stems from the missing sounds in Korean, I guess. Until Outspark releases it, both names can stay. Icy 03:07, 24 November 2008 (CST)

Addition and Modifications of Main Page

Under Item section can someone change a few things there?
Armors becomes Armors (Fighter - Cleric - Archer - Mage)
Below that add:
Set Items (Fighter - Cleric - Archer - Mage - Jewelry)

It might just be me, but main-page now seems a little cluttered. The general and items sections seem a bit bloated as does the headline...thingy. Amalgate a few links? Lvramire 14:04, 13 March 2009 (CDT)

The main page serves as a easy-navigate directory. Most wiki front pages are cluttered by quicklinks clustered in sections. I've endeavored to keep the useful links to within one space bar away when I elongated the page and I think it is suffice. How would you like it to look? Take the code out and manipulate it in your extended userpages. Icy 19:11, 13 March 2009 (CDT)

I made a page about where players would respawn at (http://www.fiestafan.com/wiki/index.php?title=Respawn_Map) but it's currently orphaned as I have nothing to link it from. The way the wiki is setup currently, all the maps are listed on the front page which can't be edited by normal users. --couchpotato013 13:24, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Monster

Just a small thing, but can the heading 'Monster' on the Main Page be changed to the plural form?
Lvramire 06:42, 2 March 2009 (CST)

It can be. But will it be? -laugh-
Okay well, when I sectioned the front page, I did so by classifying the different bits by some common theme of the pages. What went through my mind were 'General (-related information)', 'Character (-related information)', and 'Monster (-related information)'. 'Items (-related information)' is the odd one out, but 'Item (-related information)' just didn't work for me.
If Monster -> Monsters, then the others must change too. Icy 16:45, 2 March 2009 (CST)
Ok, it's not really a big deal, just that it seemed a bit incorrect in singular form as it encompasses the scope of all the different mobs.

New site

To add to links? I've never seen this one before.

http://www.fiestammorpg.co.cc/index.html Lvramire 13:14, 15 March 2009 (CDT)

Looks like a spoof site to me. I tried clicking on 'Register' and it sent me to a "lottery" site. So I'd say not to add it to the links. :-) -Stelio 15:23, 15 March 2009 (CDT)
I was directed to a myspace customisation site... It's a cheap rip off of Outspark's website. I wonder if we can report it to Outspark. Icy 19:48, 15 March 2009 (CDT)
I've already reported it to the CSRs (Question Reference #090315-000043). I'll let you know if I hear anything back from them. -Stelio 22:11, 15 March 2009 (CDT)
I saw the link when I went on Wikipedia to update info. Thought it was a bit suspicious that a "Fan-Site" was lacking anything in terms of community. Lvramire 22:59, 15 March 2009 (CDT)
Ah, and someone has already removed it from the Wikipedia page too. Excellent. I see that whoever added the Fiesta site (IP address from Argentina) also added one for CrossFire, but I've removed that link too. -Stelio 00:59, 16 March 2009 (CDT)
100% Pulped? Yeah, that's me. Guess it's a definite no. Lvramire 01:27, 16 March 2009 (CDT)

Response from an Outspark CSR just now:

Greetings from Outspark.com Customer Support!

I sincerely apologize that you have been involved with this unfortunate situation. I will investigate this user and take action as necessary. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention!

We, at Outspark.com, take issues like this very seriously and have enforced constant vigilance by suspending/terminating accounts of players who have violated our Terms of Service. We hope that eventually these abusive players will learn from their mistakes and discontinue misbehaving. In the meantime, we appreciate your judgment in the matter and that you have responded appropriately by reporting the user rather than resolve the issue in game.

If you have any further issues please feel free to contact us again. We appreciate your feedback and support. We are working hard to make Outspark.com the best internet gaming site ever!

-Stelio 17:32, 24 March 2009 (CDT)

The reply from them doesn't seem to match the topic. What was the report? Or, it's just a generic reply, perhaps even automated... Icy 20:44, 24 March 2009 (CDT)
That was a personal reply from one of the CSRs (I removed the name as it's not directly relevant, and for data protection purposes). Here was my original report, which I think that the above answers (although the reference to malicious players is misplaced, so this is indeed likely to be a stock response of some kind):
The following website appears to be a spoof site, potentially intended to phish for user IDs and passwords:

[URL as above; cut here just in case spambots are searching for the address]

Currently if you click on the 'Register' link, you are forwarded to a "lottery" site.

If you agree with my assessment, you can probably shut down the site on the grounds of copyright violation (I believe you legally "tolerate" fan sites rather than officially condone them to post materials that Outspark owns the copyright for?).

Thanks,

Stelio.

In my opinion, the important thing is that they have acknowledged the case, and so are aware of the site and will take whatever steps they feel are appropriate based on their own investigations. -Stelio 03:12, 25 March 2009 (CDT)

In just purely my opinion, the CSR reply was generic, bland, and automated. It is a direct response to reports that are like this:
Dear CSR,

Recently while I was _______ at _______ with my friend, _______, the character _______ showed up and _______. After we _______ under their dictation, _______ began to _______ (screenshot link). They also _______ at my friend _______ (screenshot link 2). However, this does not end there; the said character then _______ when he spotted my friend and I in town, continuing his _______ (more screenshot). He even took this to the forums by finding out my forum username and sending _______ to me, wilfully giving me -rep on seemingly random posts, and stalk my postings.

I would like to see action taken against the said user, _______, as he has clearly violated the ToS on several accounts.

Yours,

_______

Everything in the generic reply is geared towards abuse reports of players. How can you take action on a 'user' or 'player' who isn't a user or a player? Now, whether it is a generic reply, or even an automated one, or not, is of no real consequence. But like you said, the important thing is that they acknowledge it and take action. I hope they used the time saved from not writing a specific response on taking action.

By the way, anybody is encouraged to utilise my generic abuse report. Just fill in the blanks. Icy 10:31, 25 March 2009 (CDT)

Well the site has now been closed regardless of who did it. Gandalfa82 19:22, 26 March 2009 (CDT)
Nope, it hasn't. I will wait for another month before passing judgement on whether it was a genuine automated response. Icy 21:11, 26 March 2009 (CDT)
Yesterday it was down and now today when you click register it takes you to Outsparks register page. And all pages are basically a copy of the official fiesta site.Gandalfa82 15:22, 27 March 2009 (CDT)

Spam and Vandalism

I just finished clearing all the invisible spam from late 2009. Most articles are back to normal or just blank as they used to be... --Icksmehl 16:27, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Help Section

Should we add a section to the bottom of the general tips section for how to help report someone? Joshbl56

Maps and Locations

As the number of maps increases, I believe it would be easier to navigate between the maps by adding in sub-sections.
These would include:

Towns

  • Roumen
  • Elderine

Adventure (Normal?)

  • Forest of Tides
  • Burning Rock

Dungeons

  • Marlone Clan's Hideout
  • Concealed Peak

Abyss

  • Abysmal Cave
  • Grave of Abyss

Instances

  • Tower of Iyzel
  • Dragon's Tomb

Raid

  • Tomb of Helga
  • Thorn Cave

Caves

  • Windy Cave
  • Echo Cave

Miscellaneous

  • OX Field
  • Free Battle Zone
