Removal of smilies

Could I ask that the original smilies be removed ? I think most people agree that they look slightly retarded D: (not the Honeying/slime ones.. xD)
I mean how does : o =

looks kinda fail to me ._.

Also, if you really don't like them, use something like AdBlock on Firefox and you'll never have to see them again.

You can also disable smilies in your post, or just interrupt the smilie with a code.

For example:

:[COLOR="Black"]D[/COLOR ]

Stops the smilie from showing up (stolen from a.L, LOLOL).

I use the basic smile in my welcome.

As long as they don't affect the functionality of the site I see no reason to remove them.
