Different world...
Today we went by two cities on our trip to those Indian houses carved into mountains. One of the cities was named Miami (LOL. Miami in the middle of the desert.) and one was Globe. Going through Miami was like being teleported back in time. It had been nearly untouched since it's boom-town days in the early 40's, and it reminded me a lot of the town in Cars. xD We didn't see more than 5 people in the entire town. Stores were still stocked with the original items, and there were even a few Model-T kind of cars in the parking lots still.
It was lunch time by the time we got to Globe, so we went in Fry's (I think?) grocery store. Much busier than Miami. Upon entry, I saw at least 5-8 people who I could tell were life-long drug addicts. A few over-weight people working in the "deli" area... I just wanted something to drink, because I honestly was afraid to eat any meat that was in this place. xD I went to the drink aisle, and there were these two girls. They were talking about which flavor of Koolaid was best to SNORT. Ok, that's it. I'm out. At the cashier, one of the same girls asked, and this is a direct quote: "Have you seen and people here?" This is in a market that probably had 50 people in it. As I left, I saw about another 5 druggies. It was kind of depressing thinking about how people here are stuck here for the rest of their lives either being grocery store workers, drug makers/dealers, or copper mine workers.
;_;
OH, and I saw a run-down laundry mat named "Val's"! LOL.
