High scores from tournaments not being updated?

Some time ago, my high score of 230 for moebius syndrome was saved. today, i played in a tournament (which FINALLY started), and i played a game in which i scored 284 points, but this score wasnt saved to the high scores, even though it was higher. why is this so?

also, do i need to play 3 games against each person, or just 3 games for the whole tournament?

High scores are not recorded for tournaments. That's why arcades have Best Score of All Times, which is recorded for tournaments.

And you play 3 games every time you verse someone different. Basically, it lets you get 3 chances to get a good score to beat the person and move up the ladder.

I remember back when I was the championship of that game with the score of 302, there was a time where I played in a tourney and got a 308, and it didn't get recorded either. However, it appeared under Best Score of All Times I think.
