That is a weird trend o.O it was the same at my high school. All of my history teachers coached.
And yeah, coaches tend to discriminate or ignore the kids, except the jock types.
But really, if you find it an issue, talk to your principal, tell him/her that your teacher was letting this happen. But really, if its happening, and no one does anything about it, you will have to do something about it yourself.

That's the point we're trying to make. It's not going to end. Ever. People will forever be dicks. You will have to deal with these types of people FOREVER. They will be your bosses. They will be your coworkers. They will serve in community organizations with you. You WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE. Unless you plan on being a complete and total shut-in or move to some sort of hippie commune.
Whinging about unimportant things also makes people less sympathetic to your plight, I might add. Whiffle balls, man. Whiffle balls.

once again, the whiffle balls are nothing more than a catalyst... the teacher's outright jerkish-ness is what annoyed me. and hopefully i can be my own boss... i want to be a musician. but the chances of that are like... 1/100...
anyway, i understand i'll always have to deal with them, but at least they'll be easier to avoid. you arent forced into a tiny little room with your co-workers and forced to interact... most places have cubicles for that precise reason.

It's to give the illusion that you might at one point have something akin to personal space. All lies. Cubicle farms offer no real sense of personal space. That only comes with a door that closes.

No, they won't, actually. You will see them 5 days a week, longer than school hours (I'd assume) each day. You won't have lots of holidays where you can "avoid" them. You will have to work and cooperate with them even if you don't like them. In school, you could probably just "ignore", but you can't really "ignore" in the workforce. You start a job, and you'll be stuck there. Not saying you can't change jobs if you're unhappy where you're working, but depending on what you wanna do and stuff... don't always assume things will be that easy...
I am not a full time worker myself but that's what I'd imagine it'd be when you get out there... unless you get lucky and get to work with a group of nice people or something.
Edit: I wuz slow.

No offense Jik, but you remind me of Rod and Todd Flanders from the Simpsons. ;P

i dunno why we have cubicles... but i'm sure it's not so we can avoid our workmates....
|
of course not, but you can at least pick and choose your bandmates... and if that doesnt work out, i could still be a music instructor.

yes, but in the workforce you also have to have a slight bit of civility... yes, people will be condesending, and passive agressive... but to my knowledge, at least, they dont go around pushing and intimidating each other... so perhaps it's SLIGHTLY different.. but you're right in the fact that we'll all have to deal with people we severely dislike at some point... which sucks massively x.x

See right now you're looking at dealing with jerks as a negative thing. It isn't, it's a normal thing, and anything above that is a positive.
