I don't think there is enough room if you do that. Eventually, the mobs catch up with you. If you go around the big hold in the middle, it's harder for mobs to catch you.
2 tips on how to not slow down. You will have to practice this some.
1. Use mouse not direction keys or WASD to move, just click far away so when you spam mist you wont slow.
2. Goes hand in hand with #1 keep camera forward. When misting click near bottom of screen, no matter where your mob is it will get hit.(to get more range move skill bar to side of screen)
All techniques above are good for 50 abyss.
