Enhancing Patterns (Guide)

Ok, lets get this hashed out once and for all.

Let say these are the numbers of the positions on the smith's Enhancing Wheel of Financial Misery or EWoFM as i like to call it.

Going around clockwise...
Top: 1
Top Right: 2
Right: 3
Bottom Right: 4
Bottom: 5
Bottom Left: 6
Left: 7
Top Left: 8

I've combed the forums here, and only found 2 patterns which people say are effective for enhancing, they go something like this.

Option 1: Hard to understand the author, not sure about Part 9.
+1, Position 1 (Top Center)
+2, Pos. 6 (Bottom Left)
+3, 1
+4, 8
+5, 3
+6, 8
+7, 3
+8, 6
+9, Unknown

Option 2: Hard to decipher the author's intention, but gives all +9
+1, 1
+2, 3
+3, 5
+4, 4
+5, 7
+6, 2
+7, 5
+8, 1
+9, 5

Not sure if these work, and i've never tried it. Can anybody corroborate this or can anybody post their own solution? Or is this all bogus and it's totally random?

To me it's been random. I always start with position 3 and it's always a hit or miss deal.

i thought getting to +3 was like foolproof (and it pretty much is for level one items) so i got my level 2 boots, stuck em in and *poof* destroyed first go to get +1!!!!

level 2 items are waaaaay harder to enhance

For some reason...it usually suceeds if I only try once a day at 12o clock position...at 12am lol xD so far I've got my lvl 70 staff to +5 using only 1pack of red/blue (darn they are expensive). O,OV But that's only me..dunno bout u guys

Yep, pure random. No denying it.

I always go with bottom square for me. Hit or miss... rarely break or decrease with bottom square.

But I've vowed not to enhance anymore. Breaks too many times (and you don't really need enhanced weapons / armor till lv. 50 anyway)

I've heard of these before, someones told me a pattern, but I didn't memorize. But I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't work. I mean hell, doesn't hurt trying if they really are random, and if you have perfects lol.
I'll test it out if I ever get any Xir and perfects lol.

Lol, I'm not that 1337 ;~; But I will try it out. I only wrote down +7 and up, since my staff is +6.
